Welcome! The purpose of this page is to provide suggestions for a research project about a historic notable person from Tennessee.

There are many Tennesseans that have made an important contribution to our society. They have changed or improved our world with their actions or words. By researching a famous Tennessean, you will be answering a very important question
about that person: What contribution did this famous person make? In other words, what are they famous for? It is important that you explain this clearly and take time to really read about your person. Remember to write information in your own words, do not just copy facts down onto your notes. As you learn about your person, jot down two more questions about that person that you will attempt to answer in your notes. Be sure to have at least 4 sources (one of these sources should be a book.)
To complete your project, you must do ALL of the following:- Gather information about your person and write notes in your own words on
your paper. - Find pictures or photos of your famous person that are relevant to them or the contribution they made to society.
- Cite every source that you use by writing it down on the bibliography page attached to your note-taking page.
- Use all the information, pictures, and citations you have gathered to create your project.
Be sure to cite your sources...not just articles but pictures too.
Where did the information come from? Who wrote it? Is it a reliable source?
Include the title, author, and copyright date (When was it written?). Use the links below to help guide you.
